January 2018 – Spring 1

We hope you’ve had a lovely time over the Christmas and New Year holiday.

Welcome back to our first half term in 2018.

We are planning another busy half term with two mini topics.

Firstly we are going to have lots of fun learning about our topic Winter Wonderland.

We will also be celebrating Chinese New Year with lots more fun activities.

First Topic

Firstly we are going to have lots of fun learning about our topic Winter Wonderland.

We are going to explore lots of different sensory and creative materials in cold Winter colours, including pretend snow, shaving foam, ice cubes, shredded paper, sparkly playdough, glittery rice and shiny paint.

We will be dressing up in warm hats, scarves and gloves and then experiencing the snow machine ‘snow’!

Our class story is ‘That’s not my Snowman’

Second Topic

We will also be celebrating Chinese New Year with lots more fun activities.

This year is the year of the dog.

We will be exploring red and gold fabrics and dressing up, listening and dancing to Chinese songs and music, and exploring sensory creative materials in red and gold, including scarves, coloured rice, coloured playdough, shredded paper and paint.

We will celebrate with a Chinese New Year Party (dates and times to follow).

Let’s hope for some snow so we can go on a Winter Wonderland Walk!
Let us know how your child responds to the feel and sound of the frost, ice and snow.

Let us know how much you enjoy your Autumn Walk.

Many thanks, Class 1 Team

Pictor has been a huge blessing for us as we have absolute piece of mind that our child is getting all the specialist support he needs. The staff have all been supportive and accessible. It feels like being part of a big family.
